GUINEA PIGMore correctly known as the Cavy. Originally from South America, and were probably introduced into Europe in the sixteenth century by British and Spanish explorers. The guinea pigs or cavies are members of the large family of rodents, however unlike other rodents, they don't have tails, nor can they climb. Like humans they don't generate their own vitamin C; a significant factor to consider when feeding your guinea pig.
